Fr. Moses Started his presentation by A story of a Coptic man and his family.
A Coptic man arrived with his family (a wife and two kids) from Egypt about 25 years ago after he stilled down he found a good job in his carrier, he used to make about $25,000 yearly.
He continued to hold this job till now, with a yearly increase in his salary of 5%, now his annual salary is :
$ 84,658.87
Adding his salary over these 25 years :
$25,000.00 +
$26,250.00 +
…………….+
$ 84,658.87
this will amount to:
$1,252,836.34
He paid taxes (@ rate of 30%) of the above amount…a total of: $375,850.90
i.e. He took home over these years: $876,985.44
This family used to pay 20% (not only 10%) of their income as tithes to the church:
$876,985.44 x 20% = $175,397.09
Now $701,588.35 after 25 years in Canada
With that amount of money he achieved the following :
- The two kids of this family have finished their university education and are holding jobs in a very promising carrier.
- This family now has a house worth $500,000.00 (Title free, i.e. no debts) Let alone the furniture in it.
- Two cars.
- RRSP account.
- A Time-Share summer vacation home.
And much more…

10 bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the LORD of hosts; 12 and all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” Says the LORD of hosts (Malachi 3 : 7 – 12)
How can I get the blessing of building the house of the Lord
- By your prayers. We will not build the church, the Lord Will, but we have to ask Him.
- By your will. David did not have rest while he was living in a palace while the Ark of the covenant of the Lord was in a tent, because of this the Lord granted him his wish by letting his son to build the Lords house and let his name to be called on it, it was known as “Solomon’s Temple”.
- By direct donation small or big it does not matter. Our small gifts in the hands of our Lord will do miracles; remember the five loaves and the two fish. (Remember the blessing of paying your Tithes)
- By lending money to the church, like the banks GIC’s, you can lend money to the church and the church will pay you interest, you can either take the interest or donate it to the church and get a tax receipt which will help you as a tax credit in lowering your payable taxes. If you do not have money to lend, you may have a PLC or you can borrow from the bank to lend to the church, and in this case the church will pay the due interest which you pay on these loans.
- By committing regular small donations through the Automatic withdrawal from your bank account or credit card. This is an excellent way to support the building fund without disturbing your budget think of this:
A commitment of $40 per week (less than $6 per day) means a $ 2000 per year and accumulates more than $15,000 over 5 years. If 200 persons would take such commitment, we will have in hand 3.5 Million dollars, in addition to other donations.
This is a guarantee that the church will be completed in 2009.
